佐賀県唐津市の波戸岬に設立された世界海洋プラスチックプランニングセンター【愛称：PLA PLA（プラプラ）】に置かれたメインアート展示

OCEAN SPHERE は、地球規模の海流、海洋プラスチックの回収記録、そして唐津周辺の環境データを、直径1.2メートルの球体LED上の光の動きとして描き出します。３つのシーンを通して、海をひとつながりの動的な存在として表現しています。海は遠い存在ではありません。今も、私たちの周りで動き続けています。

  • 海は流れる

    海は決して止まることなく、地球をめぐっています。このシーンでは、現在の海流データを光の線で描き、光の粒子は海があらゆるものを運び続けていることを表現しています。

  • 海洋プラスチックの発信

    海洋プラスチックは声を持ちませんが、痕跡を残します。世界各地の観測拠点で収集されたデータを、発光する四角いシグナルとして可視化しています。それは海に残された静かな記録です。

  • 唐津の息吹

    私たちは、空気や海の動きの中に生きています。唐津周辺の風や海の環境データを抽象的な光のアニメーションへと変換し、私たちの周りに存在する目に見えない唐津の息吹を映し出します。

The main art installation placed at the World Ocean Plastic Planning Center, nicknamed “PLA PLA,” established at Hado Misaki in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan.

OCEAN SPHERE translates global ocean currents, marine plastic collection records, and environmental data from around Karatsu into luminous motion across a 1.2-meter spherical LED surface. Across three scenes, the ocean emerges as one continuous and dynamic presence.
The ocean is not distant. It is still moving — here, around us.

  • Ocean Flow

    The ocean is never still, moving endlessly around the planet.
    Here, real current data becomes lines of light, and drifting particles suggest how the sea carries all that enters it.

  • Ocean Plastic Pulse

    Ocean plastic does not speak, but it leaves traces.
    Data collected at monitoring stations worldwide appears here as luminous square signals — quiet records left within the sea.

  • Karatsu Breath

    We live within the motion of air and sea.
    Data from around Karatsu becomes abstract light, revealing the invisible breath of this place.
